They mentioned the present availability of staunch 175 MHz for all provider suppliers — or some 60 MHz every — is “grossly insufficient” and would adversely affect the 5G roll out.

“Now we have gotten been asking for DoT to kindly recognise the importance of the 3300-3600 MHz band for 5G, and thus, this band can need to be protected and completely oldschool for 5G products and providers,” SP Kochhar, DG at Cellular Operators Affiliation of India (COAI), told ET. “Currently, the provide of perfect 175 MHz spectrum in 3300 MHz is grossly insufficient.” Kochhar mentioned Indian telcos can to find themselves prepared for 5G when no longer lower than 80MHz per telco is recognized within the three.5GHz band.

Kochar mentioned that if 175 MHz spectrum is auctioned, then every non-public operator can doubtlessly to find an equal share of 60 MHz and one of these predicament will lead to limiting usage of the band for 4G perfect and would adversely affect the roll out of 5G products and providers in India.
